  • Michael Bennett, MD

    Michael Bennett, M.D. is the co-director and principal investigator of Medical Associates Research Group, Inc., which he co-founded in 1997. He also serves as CEO of San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants, where he has practiced medicine since 1987. Active in clinical research since 1985, Dr. Bennett has conducted over 115 research studies and has served as principal investigator on several studies which have had results published in the New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Bennett has written articles published in a number of medical journals such as the American Journal of Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Cancer.

    Dr. Bennett received his medical education at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland, CA and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at University of San Diego, CA. He holds certification as a Diplomat by the American Board of Internal Medicine (1980) and Diplomat by the American Board of Gastroenterology (1984). He is also a member of California Medical Association, San Diego County Medical Association, San Diego Gastroenterology Society, American Gastroenterology Association, and Southern California Gastroenterology Society.

    Richard Snyder, M.D. has been a sub-investigator for Medical Associates Research Group, Inc., since 1997, and has been a practicing physician for San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants since 1987. While acting as an investigator for over 110 clinical trials, Dr. Snyder has also held various positions of leadership including Chairman of Gastroenterology at Sharp Memorial Hospital where he served from 1990-1996.

    Dr. Snyder received his undergraduate education at University of Florida in 1975 and continued on to receive his medical education at University of Miami Medical School in 1979. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Utah Medical Center in 1982 and completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at USC School of Medicine in 1984. Dr. Snyder is certified by the American Board for both Internal Medicine (1982) and Gastroenterology (1985).

    Douglas Politoske, M.D. has been a sub-investigator for Medical Associates Research Group, Inc., since 1997 and has been a practicing physician with San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants since 1993. Before joining San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants, Dr. Politoske served as Medical Department Head for the USS San Jose under the rank of Navy Lieutenant Commander. Dr. Politoske has been an investigator for over 110 clinical trials. His expertise in the fields of both Hepatology and Gastroenterology have made him an ideal lecturer on topics ranging from peptic ulcer disease to Hepatitis C.

    Dr. Politoske received his undergraduate education at University of California, Irvine, and continued on to Temple University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors in 1983. He completed his residency in internal medicine at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1989 and went on to complete fellowships in both Hepatology and Gastroenterology from 1989-1992. Dr. Politoske is board certified in both Internal medicine and Gastroenterology and is a member of the California Medical Association, American Gastroenterology Association, and American Liver Foundation, among others.

    Sergio Flores, M.D. has been a sub-investigator for Medical Associates Research Group, Inc., since 1998 and has worked on over 110 clinical trials. Dr. Flores has also been a practicing physician with San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants since 1998 and his work has led to publications in medical journals such as Practical Gastroenterology and Journal of Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Flores received his undergraduate education at San Diego State University (1985) and went on to graduate from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine (1992) and his fellowship in Gastroenterology (1994) at University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

  • Hyun Kim, MD

    Hyun S. Kim, M.D. has been a sub-investigator for Medical Associates Research Group Inc., as well as a practicing physician for San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants since 2005. Dr. Kim has investigated over 40 clinical trials, some leading to publications in books and medical journals such as Encyclopedia of Gastroenterology and Journal of Gastroenterology. Before joining Medical Associates Research Group Inc., Dr. Kim acted as principal investigator for various studies on Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis.

    Dr. Kim graduated with honors from University of California, Berkeley in 1985 and continued on to Albany Medical College in Albany, NY for her medical education (1990). She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine (1993) and then completed her Clinical and Research Fellowships in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School (1993-1998).

  • Reza Khoshini, MD

    Reza Khoshini, MD is our newest sub-investigator at Medical Associates Research Group. He has been practicing as a physician at San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants since 2010.

    Dr. Khoshini completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles (1995) and continued on to Chicago Medical School for a master’s degree (1996) and his medical degree (2000). He returned to UCLA for further medical training completing his internal medicine residency in 2003, a perioperative fellowship in 2004, gastroenterology training in 2008 and endoscopy fellowship in 2009.
